Sweet Shots: Photography Classes for Parents

I wish I had a quarter for every time someone has asked me how I capture such good shots of my own kids in our everyday.  It is truly a passion of mine and I am so excited to be offering classes that can teach you exactly that.  

There is an enormous amount of free information and tutorials you can access online as well as virtual workshops that can be incredibly helpful as you grow as a photographer (and I'll be sharing with you a list of my favorites with links to those of you taking my course).  But I have found when getting started, there is nothing that can replace an in-person hands-on class.  It is truly the most fun and easiest way to learn how to make your big-girl (or big-boy) camera work for you instead of against you.

Registration is now open for upcoming Sweet Shots Level I classes.
Sweet Shots classes are DSLR workshops designed especially for parents!  Level 1 is a three-hour in person workshop and includes a comprehensive workbook on the concepts covered in class as well as some actual shooting time with me.

In Sweet Shots Level I, you'll walk through every feature, setting, and real-life strategy that no camera-owning parent should be without.

In Sweet Shots Level I, expect to become comfortable with the following concepts:


  • Fundamental DSLR elements
  • Exposure, aperture, & shutter speed
  • Depth of field & background blur
  • Essential lenses & focal length
  • Tack-sharp focus
  • Essential lighting techniques
  • Compositional strategies for exceptional images

The cost of the workshop is $125.  It is recommended that you bring your DSLR to class with you.
